Parents of Scholars’ Academy

The Scholars’ Academy is a private,
independent day school dedicated to providing a comprehensive educational program
that serves the needs of academically gifted students ages five to twelve. We
recognize that gifted students have unique interests, needs, and talents. Our
mission is to provide an optimal environment for the development of our gifted
students’ intellectual, artistic, social and emotional abilities and to honor
their diversity through a research-based, individualized curriculum that
inspires curiosity, personal growth and academic achievement.
We at the Scholars' Academy
strive to ensure a good fit between our school and each student. Because of the
academic rigor of our programs and our students' need for true academic peers,
we do require a certain level of documented academic success for acceptance.
Because of the overwhelming academic research that shows us that there is no
hard-and-fast cutoff for what giftedness is (or is not), we do not require a
traditional 130 IQ required for acceptance; we have multiple paths to
acceptance. Our aim is to be as inclusive as possible while also upholding
standards of aptitude.

$7,500 (full and partial scholarships may be available; additionally, we offer
a 10% discount for siblings!)

Applying to Scholars’ Academy
In order to begin the admissions
process, families may be required to submit several application items, which
may include:
- Application—please
use the Admissions Request Form to
request an application packet.
- Intelligence
test administered by a licensed psychologist (Stanford-Binet or Wechsler
WISC IV or WPPSI-III)
- Copies
of school records and report card(s), portfolio of child’s work
- Evaluations
sent confidentially from teachers, recommendation letters
We encourage families to share their questions and
thoughts with us throughout this process. Tuition was $7,500 for the
2009-2010 school year.
